01 The situation
An established coach, held back by the platform — not the design.
Abhiyana is a certified IFS practitioner and self-leadership coach with around two decades of international consultancy, management and coaching experience. Her clients range from senior managers to people navigating difficult transitions, and her brand carries the weight of a long, established reputation.
Her website already looked exactly the way she wanted it to. Over years of work she had arrived at a distinctive, considered style that her audience responds to — calm, credible and unmistakably hers. The design was never the problem. The platform was.
The site was built on WordPress, and her original designer had since relocated to another country. The timezone gap turned every small change into a slow, awkward back-and-forth, and updating her own pages or publishing new blog posts had become difficult enough that it mostly stopped happening. An active coach with a great deal to say was effectively locked out of her own website.
02 The brief
Keep it exactly as it is — just make it hers to run.
The direction was unusually precise: replicate the existing site as closely as possible on Squarespace — pixel for pixel. The look was not up for reinvention. It is part of the brand her audience already trusts, and the goal was for the move to be invisible to anyone visiting. What had to change was everything behind the design: the platform, the ownership, and the day-to-day ease of updating her own pages and blog without waiting on someone in another timezone. She also wanted everything kept standard — no custom code — so the rebuild had to live entirely within Squarespace’s native capabilities by design.
03 What SQSP did
A faithful rebuild — design preserved, platform replaced.
A pixel-accurate rebuild
The site was rebuilt on Squarespace to match the original layout, typography, spacing and colour as closely as the platform allows. To her audience, nothing visibly changed — the brand they recognise stayed intact while everything underneath it moved.
Domain, DNS and redirects handled
SQSP managed the domain and DNS move and mapped complete 301 redirects from the old WordPress URLs to their new homes. Existing search rankings and traffic carried over without drop-off, dead ends or broken links.
Blog migrated and made easy to update
Her existing posts were brought across, and the blog was set up so she can write and publish new articles herself, directly in Squarespace — no developer, no timezone, no queue.
Kept standard, with limitations agreed up front
Abhiyana wanted everything kept standard — no custom code to maintain later. So SQSP led with the platform’s limitations from the very start, agreeing what Squarespace could and couldn’t do before a single page was built. The result is a site that sits comfortably within constraints she was happy with, and nothing bolted on that she’d have to worry about down the line.
| Old WordPress site | New Squarespace site | |
|---|---|---|
| Design | Exactly as she wanted | Preserved, pixel for pixel |
| Editing | Dependent on a designer abroad | Self-managed in Squarespace |
| Updates | Slowed by timezone gaps | Immediate, on her own schedule |
| Blog | Rarely updated | Easy to write and publish |
| Existing traffic | At risk in a migration | Preserved via complete 301 redirects |
| Build approach | Plugins & developer-dependent | Standard Squarespace, no custom code |
In her words
Huge thanks for all your work on the site migration. Really appreciate the professionalism of the project management process.

04 Why this matters
Why this matters if you’re on WordPress.
If you have a WordPress site whose design you actually like, but a platform you’ve come to dread, you don’t have to redesign to escape it. The site can be rebuilt faithfully on Squarespace, your domain and search traffic preserved through proper redirects, and the keys handed back to you — so updating a page or publishing a post no longer depends on anyone else’s calendar or timezone.
