01 The relationship

The website came first. The ads came when the site was ready to earn.

Adil runs CityLaundryApp, a dry cleaning and laundry business. The relationship with SQSP began over ten years ago with the website — built around 2016, long before any advertising entered the picture.

Google Ads came roughly five years later, in 2021. That order matters. Sending paid traffic to a site that can’t convert it wastes money — so the campaigns only started once there was a website worth sending people to.

02 Honesty about risk

No guarantees were promised. Spend was judged against cost per conversion.

Paid advertising carries risk, and SQSP’s position from the start was to say so plainly: no promised lead counts, no guaranteed rankings — just a clear measure to judge the work by. Every pound of spend is weighed against what a conversion actually costs.

Across the lifetime of the account that measure has held at £10.68 per conversion, sustained over five years of campaigns — not a good month cherry-picked from a bad year.

Duvet & Linen

95.8 conversions at £9.71 each — the lowest cost per conversion on the account, at an 11.41% rate.

It still performs today: in May 2026 alone, the campaigns produced 53 booking-form submissions for pickup & delivery on £754.09 of spend.
